The Cottage

Hill Cottage sits in an isolated spot, overlooking Loch Laxford and the peaks beyond. This original stone crofter’s cottage was built in 1882 by the Macaskill family, who still own it.. Hill Cottage sleeps up to four people and one well-behaved pet by prior agreement.

Downstairs

The cottage is heated with electric storage heaters,  additional heating is available in the lounge and bedrooms. We have a private water supply which is treated, but you may prefer to drink bottled water.

Lounge – Storage heater and an additional Electric fire. A comfortable leather three-piece suite and coffee table. Although there is no television reception, a television is provided to watch videos and DVDs (a small selection is provided). There is also a CD player.

Kitchen – The Fitted kitchen has an electric hob, oven, fridge and microwave, and a dining table and chairs for four.  It opens onto a small conservatory with stunning open views to the hills and Loch Laxford, with two easy chairs for your comfort.

 A selection of tourist information and maps is available to borrow. There is a storage heater & additional electric radiator.

Bathroom – Electric shower, toilet (septic tank), wash-hand basin, towel rail and shaver point. A storage area holds cleaning materials, ironing board and hoover.

Upstairs

Two bedrooms – one TWIN and one DOUBLE with a king-size bed. Two pillows, one fitted bottom sheet and a duvet per guest are provided, along with bedside tables and reading lights, wardrobe/hanging space and a chair.

There are electric heaters in situ.

 The spacious landing offers a selection of games, jigsaw puzzles and books.
